$3,182 per month / $18.36 per hour
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This is a temporary full-time, non-exempt position working under the direction of the Health Administrator. Funding for this position is from grant programs and is subject to appropriations and will expire at the end of the grant term (ending at end of April 2024). Position is responsible for coordination of the Public Health Equity (Disparities) Grant Work Plan and billing for associated grant expenses. Work involves collaboration with Health Department staff, state, and local government in identifying community needs for COVID-19 Response by reviewing and comparing gaps, needs and current community resources, then assisting in building a plan to promote equity in those areas identifies as underserved or in greater need. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood “I SERVE” Core Values.
EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC WORK PERFORMED:
1) Following and development of the Public Health and Equity Grant Plan and Budget 2) Gathering data to determine underserved or higher risk groups. 3) Leading data review, planning and implementation of Plan; 4) Fostering of community relationships to assist in health equity and achieving Plan goals; 5) Coordinating with various areas of the Health Department for outreach actives and education as needed; 6) Aiding other Health Department staff to meet needs of the community; 7) Delivery of specimens to lab, may require travel; 8) Successfully complete IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 NIMS introductory courses and provide documentation to Public Health Preparedness Coordinator upon completion; 9) Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works Indoors and occasionally work outdoors. Ability to walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary. May be exposed to electrical, mechanical, or chemical hazards When operating/maintaining office equipment and potential risk of exposure to communicable diseases and blood borne pathogen.

Frequent contact with MRC volunteers, employees, healthcare providers and staff, City and State officials in person and by telephone.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; additional education preferred. Experience in community outreach or grant administration desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and the public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to learn and use program specific web-based software/programs. Knowledge of public health emergency preparedness and response activities; knowledge of epidemiological principles. Ability to design and execute evaluation processes. Ability to use standard office equipment; maintain current driver license, auto liability insurance, reliable transportation; proficient with/in Windows operating system; internet browsers; Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Acrobat Pro.
